After students of DoubleSTARSTM have received acceptance of their paper for publication, they are eligible to continue their astronomy research with Boyce-Astro in a variety of areas. There are three paths to consider:

  • Become a mentor for a future DoubleSTARSTM team. This is not only a rewarding experience, it is also an opportunity to be an author on another paper. Mentors are given access to the robotic telescopes to order the images for their team and are advisors to Boyce-Astro for improvements to the seminar.
  • Particpate in the VariableSTARSTM seminar. This seminar is under development to be offered in 2018
  • Join an AdvancedSTARSTM seminar team. Projects will be announced as time and resources become available. Complete the form below to be added to our mailing list of interested students.

Advanced Studies - for Graduates

We are continually looking for possible projects and publication opportunities beyond our two introductory seminars. The  AdvancedSTARSTM projects are conduted as a team with a meeting schedule and project duration to be defined by the team and not a school calendar. More than one mentor may be involved including astronomers or citizen scientists. Projects are announced as time and resources become available. Projects include advanced astrometry and photometry as well as exoplanet observations and verification.
